Effectiveness of techniques for developing flexibility in young swimmers
Objective. To analyze the effectiveness of methods for development of flexibility in young swimmers in weekly microcycles of preparatory period. Material and methods. The pedagogical experiment involved 30 schoolchildren (15 girls and 15 boys) aged 11—12 years enrolled in the group of educational and training stage of the 1st-2nd years of study. We assessed the effectiveness of general and special flexibility development methods in 11—12-year-old swimmers in weekly microcycles of preparatory period. Results. An experimental program combining sequential alternation of microcycles with preferential development of general and special flexibility in young swimmers is developed. Conclusion. Alternation of microcycles with preferential development of general and special flexibility is effective for developing this physical quality in young swimmers. This approach increases sports skills and contributes to higher results in training and competitive process.
