Monte Carlo analysis of stack microstructured SiC neutron detector
Abstract In this paper, the relationship between the structural parameters and the detection efficiency of trench SiC neutron detectors and double-turned-layer trench SiC neutron detectors is investigated, and the detection efficiencies all reach the maximum value at a specific ratio of trench width to cell dimension ( T / W cell ). On this basis, the stacked SiC neutron detectors are investigated, and the detection efficiency of the detectors can reach nearly twice the detection efficiency of the monolithic trench SiC neutron detectors. In addition, the effect of the filling rate of the conversion material on the detection efficiency provides some guidance for the actual process fabrication.
