Nanoimprinting Pattern on Responsive Microwrinkles for Dynamic Optical Diffraction and Reflection

Dynamic micro/nano-structured surfaces play pivotal roles in biological systems and engineering applications. Despite considerable progress has been made in fabricating precisely ordered architectures, achieving controlled motion in top-down fabricated structures remain a formidable challenge. Here, we introduce an advanced dynamic micron-nano optical platform featuring hierarchical microscale wrinkles integrated with ordered nanoscale arrays. This system is fabricated through a synergistic approach combining top-down thermal nanoimprinting with a subsequent bottom-up self-winkling process, enabled by photoinduced gradient cross-linking in a graphene-doped photosensitive ionic polymer (MHan@G). The MHan@G leverages cationic-π interactions and exhibits photothermal responsiveness. Under near-infrared (NIR) light irradiation, the microwrinkled structures undergo dynamic reconfiguration, thereby inducing a concomitant and coordinated motion within the overlying nanoarray structures. This structure adaptability enables real-time, in situ control over light diffraction and reflection characteristics. By unifying the dynamic tunability of wrinkles with the precision of ordered nanostructures, our platform demonstrates a nondestructive optical modulation strategy. This approach offers potential opportunities for developing functional dynamic surfaces with applications in adaptive optics, tunable metasurfaces, and light-matter interaction engineering.
