After the publication of an Expression of Concern for this article on March 25, 2025 (https://doi.org/10.1111/codi.70071), corresponding author Anthony Dixon was removed from the UK Medical Register on 6 August 2025 at the request of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), as a result of the MPTS's investigation into allegations against Dr. Dixon. The notification has been agreed due to concerns raised regarding Dr. Dixon's surgical and research practices. Therefore, the journal has decided to issue this notification to inform and alert the readers.
