Research on radar signal pulse repetition interval identification based on periodic nested matrices
Accurate and rapid identification of hostile radar emitter parameters is a prerequisite for implementing penetration and electronic countermeasure strategies. The pulse repetition interval (PRI) is among these most critical parameters in radar signal recognition. In modern battlefield environments characterized by increasingly complex electromagnetic conditions, severe pulse loss phenomena pose significant challenges to conventional inter-pulse parameter identification algorithms. This paper proposes a novel PRI identification algorithm based on periodic nested matrices. By exploiting the periodicity of pulse sequences, the PRI identification problem is transformed into a sparse recovery problem in the compressed sensing domain. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves an 85% identification rate for PRI parameters even under high pulse loss rates of 40%. Compared with traditional methods, it exhibits superior accuracy and real-time performance. This study provides a new approach for radar pulse parameter identification.
