An Effective Approach to Predict the Passive Intermodulation Power for Communication Satellite Antenna

A general formula for passive intermodulation (PIM) power is derived with a simplified scenario for the combining two-sinusoidal input signals considering double exponential (DE) model. A novel scheme is proposed to obtain the fitness coefficients by using genetic algorithm (GA). The predicted PIM power exhibits a good agreement with the test data, thus providing a practical verification of the proposed approach.

Abstract

A general formula for passive intermodulation (PIM) power is derived with a simplified scenario for the combining two-sinusoidal input signals considering double exponential (DE) model. A novel scheme is proposed to obtain the fitness coefficients by using genetic algorithm (GA). The predicted PIM power exhibits a good agreement with the test data, thus providing a practical verification of the proposed approach.
