Comparative Analysis of Kinematic Factors of Female Long Jumpers
Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze kinematic variables such as time and distance that can affect long jump records and utilize them as quantitative data, as well as to contribute to the technical development and performance enhancement of the long jump event. Methods We analyzed women's long jump competitions at an accredited track and field stadium, and analyzed the approach time and distance factors for the long jump movements performed at the best times according to the record level. Results The total time taken for the run-up was 0.44 s for Group A and 4.27 s for Group B. The time taken for the 1st to 3rd steps of the roll-off was 0.66 s for Group A and 0.61 s for Group B. When analyzing the distance factor before the 1st to 3rd steps of the greater stride variability, Group A greater stride variability in the order of 1 step, 3 steps, and 2 steps, while Group B showed a large change in stride length in the order of 1 step, 2 steps, and 3 steps. Conclusions Long jump is an exercise in which you jump as far as possible using the speed of the approach, so you must increase your kinetic energy through the approach.Since kinetic energy is determined by the product of mass and speed, if the horizontal speed of the approach is fast, you can obtain more kinetic energy, so you can increase your record.
