AI-based career management to improve the quality of decision making in higher education
Quality decision making is an essential part of career management in higher education to improve organizational performance and effectiveness. The lack of accurate and systematic data often hampers this process. This study aims to explore the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based career management in improving the quality of decision making in higher education. The research approach uses a qualitative method with a case study type, implemented at one of the universities in Indonesia. The research subjects included leaders, lecturers, and education personnel involved in career management. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using a thematic approach with coding, categorization, and interpretation steps. The results of the study show that the application of AI-based career management improves the accuracy and efficiency of the decision-making process, especially in career planning, performance evaluation, and competency development. AI helps identify previously undetected individual potential through comprehensive data analysis. This study contributes in the form of an AI-based career management framework that is relevant to be applied in other higher education institutions. These findings are expected to be a reference for policy makers in improving the quality of human resource management in higher education.
