Local Values as a Catalyst for Technology Integration in Quality Assurance

This research focuses on integrating local values in the quality assurance system of Islamic higher education, aiming to explore forms of local values that can be integrated with technology and understand the rationale behind this integration. A qualitative approach with the case study method was used in this research, as the research location. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis and then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The research results show that integrating local values, such as justice, honesty and responsibility, in a technology-based quality assurance system can increase the acceptance and effectiveness of the system among students and lecturers. However, the main challenge faced is resistance to technology, which is considered to threaten local traditions. Nevertheless, technological adaptations considering the local context have successfully improved the overall quality of education in Islamic higher education institutions. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of considering local values in every modernization and technological innovation effort in the education sector, especially in the quality assurance system.
