Simulation Study on Adjustable Torque Ripple and Loss of A Novel Dual-Rotor Flux Switching Permanent Magnet Motor
In some manufacturing processes such as tapping, the ripple of torque can reduce the machine load and improve the processing quality. In order to achieve this driven motion, a novel flux switching permanent magnet motor with dual-rotor (DR-FSPM) is proposed. Two rotors are coaxial installed in the stator, the outer rotor output the torque, and the inner adjusts the torque ripple. The motor torque ripple amplitude and frequency can be adjustable without the external vibration excitation. To achieve this purpose, the structure of DR-FSPM motor is introduced, and the torque and loss performance of the motor are analysed. then, the inner and outer rotor structure are parameterized, focusing on the influence of rotor geometric and speed on torque and loss performance. The results show that when the speed difference between two rotors is six times the speed of the outer rotors, the torque ripple amplitude can be adjustable by adjusting the phase between inner and outer rotors. This study provides a method to achieve the manufacturing with torsion vibration assistance.
