Research on the Application of Interactive Genetic Algorithm in Interior Layout Design
The Chinese housing market has recently been expanding, leading to a growing awareness of aesthetic and physical comforts in living spaces. When moving into new apartments after the developer's completion of necessary building work, most residents undertake interior design themselves, tailoring it to their family's interests and needs. Understanding their preferred aesthetics can enhance their environment, benefit interior design professionals, inform apartment projects, and drive sales of interior materials. This study examines the use of interactive genetic algorithms for designing interior layouts with a cost function expressed mathematically. The article examines genetic algorithm to minimize costs and optimize alternative designs while enabling automated furniture selection across dimensions. Additionally, we optimize material assignment to create cohesive designs with tasteful color schemes. Through perceptual research, we explore our system's potential in generating realistic and livable interiors.
