Synchronous Visualization of Sensor Data for Autonomous Vehicle Testing

Sensor data used for the development of autonomous vehicles can be hard to interpret. Raw LiDAR or radar data, though useful for the vehicle, is not very understandable for the programmer or calibrator without visual context. Therefore, the developers and engineers responsible for the autonomous vehicle need to be able to visualize the data each sensor is measuring to more efficiently advance their vehicle's algorithms. When LiDAR, radar, camera systems, and GNSS are all brought into a system synchronously, the engineers and calibrators responsible for features can more efficiently analyze data to develop vehicle features.

Abstract

Sensor data used for the development of autonomous vehicles can be hard to interpret. Raw LiDAR or radar data, though useful for the vehicle, is not very understandable for the programmer or calibrator without visual context. Therefore, the developers and engineers responsible for the autonomous vehicle need to be able to visualize the data each sensor is measuring to more efficiently advance their vehicle's algorithms. When LiDAR, radar, camera systems, and GNSS are all brought into a system synchronously, the engineers and calibrators responsible for features can more efficiently analyze data to develop vehicle features.
