Digital Innovations in Sustainable Interior Design Towards an Intelligent Architectural Environment
environmental issues gain increasing prominence, sustainable interior design has emerged as a key consideration in contemporary architecture, seeking to align sustainability with visual and functional excellence. Drawing on recent data from the literature, this study examines how digital innovations can be implemented to advance sustainable interior design through smart technologies like AI-assisted material selection, IoT automation, and digital twin simulations. A dataset of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{3 0}$</tex> interior design projects was assessed in terms of the key metrics, such energy savings, material efficiency, and user satisfaction. Data has shown that intelligent climate controls and full-scale digital twin technology have helped save up to 30 % of energy consumption. Moreover, users reported higher levels of satisfaction with AI-assisted designs than with traditional interior spaces. The results indicate that digital tools can both improve sustainability and improve the usability and comfort of interior environments. These considerations need to be balanced with the integration of intelligent technologies in design practices that could unlock cost-saving potential, adaptability, and better space efficiency in the long run. Digital innovations are considered a significant and necessary part of sustainable interior design practice in the future as they provide practical assistance in ways to reduce occupation's environmental impact and improve usage experience, concludes the study.
