Research on the Application to Reduce the Localizer Course Structure Scalloping in Signal Simulation
The construction of large buildings on the side of an airport runway can easily lead to an increase in the deviation value of the localizer course structure due to the multipath effect. Some are severe enough to cause equipment to be downgraded from Instrument Landing System CAT III and to CAT II or even CAT I. This article simulates the electromagnetic environment of airport through computer signal simulation, a large metal hangar is set up near the localizer, and by installing different sizes of wave-absorbing module on the surface of the hangar, the deviation value of the localizer course structure is effectively reduced. This proves that the appropriate use of wave-absorbing module can effectively protect the electromagnetic environment of airports. It enables ATC navigation equipment to have better spatial signal quality, thus providing better navigation services and ensuring navigation safety.
