Investigation of the performance characteristics of a diesel engine operating with alcohol
Abstract The present study aims to evaluate the impact of adding n -butanol to diesel fuel on the performance characteristics of a diesel engine. Experimental tests were carried out under various load conditions, comparing the engine behavior when operating on conventional diesel fuel (without a biocomponent) and on blends containing n -butanol in volumetric concentrations of 10% (N10), 20% (N20), and 30% (N30). The analysis focused on performance parameters such as specific fuel consumption, effective torque, and effective power output.
