GESTÃO EFICIENTE DE FROTAS NO TRANSPORTE RODOVIÁRIO BRASILEIRO: ESTUDO DE CASO DE UMA OPERAÇÃO COM FROTA PRÓPRIA E AGREGADA

Road freight transport accounts for more than 60% of cargo movement in Brazil, consolidating itself as the country’s main logistics mode. However, its predominance exposes companies to high costs, risks associated with poor infrastructure and the need for innovative management practices. This article aims to analyze efficient fleet management in Brazilian road transport through a case study in a company that operates with both owned and outsourced fleets. The research has an applied nature and a mixed-methods approach, combining bibliographic review, documental analysis and a single case study. Data were treated using descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis of management reports and performance indicators. The results showed significant reductions in fuel costs, higher vehicle availability, fewer mechanical failures and greater delivery reliability after the implementation of telematics, preventive maintenance and performance-based contracts with outsourced drivers. It is concluded that the integration of owned and outsourced fleets, supported by digital technologies and guided by efficiency indicators, is a viable and strategic alternative for companies in the sector, contributing to competitiveness and sustainability in Brazilian road transport.
