SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA: DESAFIOS, ESTRATÉGIAS E PERSPECTIVAS CONTEMPORÂNEAS

This article aims to critically analyze the challenges and perspectives of public security in Brazil, considering its social, institutional, and technological dimensions. The research, of an applied nature, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, was based on bibliographic review and documentary analysis of official reports, academic studies, and criminal data provided by national and international institutions. The study was structured into five main axes: analysis of emblematic cases of public security, modeling and simulation of scenarios, evaluation of policies, analysis of criminal data, and discussion of major challenges and opportunities. The results showed that, although significant progress has been made in the use of technologies and in the formulation of security programs, there are still weaknesses related to institutional fragmentation, the absence of sustainable state policies, and the lack of integration between prevention and repression. It was also found that the effectiveness of actions depends on the articulation between police forces, social policies, and community participation. The study concludes that public security must be conceived as a broad and democratic policy, capable of combining qualified repression, technological innovation, and social inclusion, in order to transform historical challenges into opportunities for institutional strengthening and the promotion of citizenship.
