Research on Digital Twin Technology in English Cross-Cultural Communication Teaching
As globalization continues to evolve, how to use English for cross-cultural communication has become an important aspect of contemporary life development. In recent years, various technologies have been innovated, and digital twins offer a promising solution that is increasingly accepted and adopted in education. This study aims to leverage this technology to improve traditional English cross-cultural communication, providing a new pedagogical model. The research employs digital twin technology and integrates it into English cross-cultural communication teaching, beginning with Chinese character writing instruction. By having teachers write relevant Chinese characters in real life and using the digital twin system, the study continuously expands the practice of cross-cultural teaching of traditional Chinese stories. The study demonstrates that the process of collecting handwritten Chinese characters and words via writing tablets, followed by applying digital twin technology to progressively expand domain knowledge while integrating personalized databases for learning behavior tracking, enables digitally-enhanced instructional expansion while delivering superior interactive experiences. Through continuous knowledge expansion, relevant Chinese and English resources are constantly recommended to each teacher and student. Students can easily and joyfully understand and apply Chinese language knowledge in an enjoyable educational environment, while familiarizing themselves with and practicing cross-cultural communication skills, thereby promoting the development of English cross-cultural communication.
