Ant Lion Optimization PI Controller based DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicle Applications
This paper presents a novel approach to controlling DC-DC converters in electric vehicles (EVs) by leveraging the hunting strategy of ant lions. The PI controller parameters are determined by incorporating the adaptive and robust characteristics of the ant lion behavior. To meet the necessities of the EVs establishing an advanced charging infrastructure is significant. For achieving precise output voltage regulation, balanced current profile and minimizes charging time of battery an ALO PI controller based high gain DC-DC converter evolved in this work. The reducing overshoots for battery charging or discharging results to minimize the charging times. The suggested ALO PI controller facilitates enhanced transient response with optimum overshoot. Therefore, the overall performance of the battery can be improved. Also, the DC-DC converter modeled with a lower no. of semiconductor switches thus decline the power loss and more economical. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed ALO based DC-DC converter topology for EVs, the simulation are conducted for grid connected DC-DC network. The simulation outcomes reveals that the effectiveness of the proposed work 90%power factor is achieved and attained grid current harmonics are within the permissible IEEE standard limits. Moreover, the performance of the EV charger and its SOC is also thoroughly analyzed.
