Effects of Utilizing ChatGPT on Learning Process in English Morphology Class

This study aims to investigate the effects of the utilization of ChatGPT on students’ learning in English morphology class in 2024, and verify the academic benefits that the GPT class elicits more learning activities than the traditional class. The research on learning interests, invigoration of self-directed learning, enhancement of academic inquiry or learning quality, and a higher academic achievement that a new learning tool GPT reinforces, deriving expansive knowledge and correlations with other linguistic features, could be clarified through a t-test result for academic achievement and a survey on learners’ satisfaction. GPTs also facilitate teaching activities such as personalized comments on students’ presentations and supplementary explanations about GPT’s information, and enable us to catch major learning points in a well-organized way. As a result, this paper would prove that the proper utilization of GPT in higher education leads to improved teaching quality and learners’ satisfaction, although it could be necessary that the instructor affirm the accuracy of the GPT’s information and provide the appropriate feedback and comments for satisfied fulfillment of the educational activities.
