Analysis of enhanced heat transfer in an Ellis nanofluid over a spinning sphere with effect of inter‐particle spacing and nanoparticle size

Abstract Nanoparticle size and inter‐particle spacing critically influence heat transfer in nanofluids by minimizing thermal resistance, which is considered as an essential feature for industrial heat exchange applications. The present study investigates heat transfer in Ellis nanofluid flow over a spinning sphere with effects of inter‐particle Spacing and nanoparticle size. The model incorporates thermal radiation, exponential heat source and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) effects. The aim is to examine the impact of these critical factors such as magnetic field, radiative heat transfer, and nanoparticle volume fractions under the influnce of these advanced features of nanofluids on the velocity and temperature profiles. To model this phenomenon, the governing equations for momentum and energy conservation are formulated with assumed assumptions. These governing equations are transformed into a non‐dimensional form using appropriate similarity transformations to simplify the numerical analysis. The robust bvp4c computational technique is employed to simulate the behavior velocity and temperature profile under governing parameters. Results are displayed using different illustrations and tabular data. It is observed that, for higher values of Material parameter, velocity profile decrease and then increases for smaller interspacing and particl radius case (h = 0.1 and dp = 0.5) and same behavior is seen for larger interspacing and radius (h = 1.0 and dp = 1.5). In the case of Magnetic parameter, velocity of nanofluid decreases under both cases. The Nusselt numbers intensifies with a higher volumetric fraction of nanoparticles, which indicated the enhanced heat transfer in Ellis nanofluids.
