Suppressing Metal Dissolution in Multi‐Grained Catalysts Through Intragrain Atomic Ordering for Stable Fuel Cells (Adv. Mater. 35/2025)

Stable Fuel Cells In article number 2504059, Hanuel Jin, Hyesung Jo, Yongsoo Yang, Dong Won Chun, Sung Jong Yoo, and co-workers present the synthesis of dome-hollow NiPt nanocatalysts incorporating ordered Ni3Pt5 phases via ultrasound-assisted atomic transposition at room temperature. Atomic ordering within multi-grained structure effectively suppresses metal dissolution in chemical and electrochemical environments, enabling high catalytic activity and long-term durability in PEMFCs under both light-duty and heavy-duty operations.

Abstract

Stable Fuel Cells In article number 2504059, Hanuel Jin, Hyesung Jo, Yongsoo Yang, Dong Won Chun, Sung Jong Yoo, and co-workers present the synthesis of dome-hollow NiPt nanocatalysts incorporating ordered Ni3Pt5 phases via ultrasound-assisted atomic transposition at room temperature. Atomic ordering within multi-grained structure effectively suppresses metal dissolution in chemical and electrochemical environments, enabling high catalytic activity and long-term durability in PEMFCs under both light-duty and heavy-duty operations.
