Concrete curing – its role in shaping structural durability
<ns3:p>Concrete curing is a crucial factor influencing the durability of concrete structures, determining the material’s properties already at the early stage of its hardening. Key aspects include the determination of objectives of curing, classification of methods, and their choice in the context of climatic conditions impact on process effectiveness. According to the requirements of PN-EN 13670, curing should be conducted in a manner that ensures optimal conditions for concrete maturation, directly affecting its microstructure. In the context of concrete durability, an approach has been proposed that considers durability as a criterion for selecting appropriate curing classes. The case study analysis highlights the consequences of improper timing in initiating and terminating curing, reducing material durability</ns3:p>
