Full optical FiWi design model towards B5G framework under adverse fog conditions using QAM-OFDM transmission at s band frequency

This reseach reports the design of fiber-wireless (FiWi) system for long optical backhaul. In order to prolong the transmission range, fully optical FiWi system with three channel pieces is utilized based on 4-QAM RoF-OFDM signal transmissiion from central-station to serve local home network for beyond 5G (B5G) applications with dynamic weather environments. The introduced architecture composes of fixed 100 Km single-mode-fiber (SMF) with DCF dispersion compensation technology followed via varied 160 Km optical-wireless-communication (OWC) transmission in presence of various fog-conditions, then fixed 10 Km SMF cable to cater the requirements of end-cuostomers. As a proposed concept, it is demonstratelly simulated a successful utilization of B5G integrated model without employing of equalization and filters. The system performance is analysed with varied OWC range with different pointing-error-angles under various haze environments such as clear-sky, light-fog, moderate-fog and heavy-fog. It is also evaluated via considering different VCSEL laser’s temperature. The error-vector-magnitude (EVM) and sample-error-rate (SER) are utilized as essential quality indecs. Ultimately, a fair comparison of our suggested model with other former researches has been made, the superiority has been obviously shown.
