A Rare Cause and a Case of an Exudative Pericardial Effusion
Abstract Infections, inflammatory diseases, and malignancies commonly cause exudative pericardial effusion. This is a case report of a patient who presented with exudative pericardial effusion and was initially treated with empirical antituberculous therapy (ATT). He had a poor response to ATT along with steroids and was subsequently diagnosed with pericardial mesothelioma.
