Phyto‐Mediated Nanotechnology: A Promising Natural Approach Towards Biomedical Remediations

Abstract Phyto‐mediated nanoparticles are considered a promising platform for displaying diverse biological functions. They are obtained using eco‐friendly green chemistry methods by utilizing plant extracts. Phyto nanoparticles are stabilized and reduced by bioactive phytochemicals, including flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, and polyphenols, often composed of metals such as zinc, gold, silver and titanium dioxide. These phytochemicals give unique biological properties to nanoparticles, making them effective candidates for anti‐inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antifungal applications. Plant‐derived nanoparticles outperform traditional treatments due to their bulky surface area, small size, biocompatibility, and capability to target specific cellular pathways. By incorporating active plant compounds into their structure, nanoparticles can interact synergistically with cellular systems, enhancing their therapeutic efficiency. This elaborative review provides an in‐depth outline of recent advances in the synthesis and study of biologically active phyto nanoparticles, examining their mechanisms of action, synthesis methods, and emerging applications of phyto nanoparticles in anticancer, antibacterial, and other fields. We have also highlighted the multifunctional properties of phyto‐nanoparticles, which open new opportunities for research and therapeutic development, thereby offering a sustainable solution to environmental and global health challenges.
