ENTENDENDO SOBRE INTERSEXO: DIREITOS E DESAFIOS

This study is carried out through a bibliographical survey and analysis, as well as an analysis of Brazilian legislation. The research work has the general objective of explaining the concept of intersexuality, providing an understanding, albeit broad, of the rights and challenges regarding the subject involving intersex people, such as the right to gender self-determination as opposed to mutilation surgery performed on intersex babies, which does not respect autonomy of will, so that after growth they can, based on their own perception, decide which gender they identify with and perform the surgical procedures that they eventually desire and deem appropriate. Also as general objectives, explain the right to sexual identity and the right to a name of the intersex people.
