A Modified Isolated SEPIC Employed PV-Fed Electric Vehicle Charger
In this paper, a novel modified isolated single-ended primary-inductor converter (mISEPIC) is proposed for a photovoltaic (PV) power-fed electric vehicle (EV) charger. This innovative charger offers reduced ripple current at both ends input and output. Hence, it enhanced the maximum PV power extraction as well as smooth battery charging. The proposed topology consists of a single controlled device that is responsible to extract maximum PV power as well as battery charging control in an electrical isolation manner. For maximum PV power tracking (MPPT), conventional perturb and observe (P&O) technique is utilized. For electrical isolation, High frequency transformer (HFT) offers such a facility. It also permits the limits specified in the direct current (DC), EV charging standard IEC 61851-23. The proposed system model, its controller and performance validation are carried out on MATLAB/Simulink 2024a platform.
