Prototype and Parameter Based Analysis of Efficient Water Supply System
This study discusses the design and implementation of an automated water supply system using web-activated water supply system towards improving efficiencies and sustainability in the management of water. The system uses the NodeMCU microcontroller that contains integrated Wi-Fi for accessing the control functionality remotely via a web interface. The mechanism of action for controlling the valve involves the precision using a stepper motor driver connected through a timing belt pulley, thus achieving accurate and reliable water flow control. Communication between the various components was easily done using the I2C protocol that increased data transfer efficiency while at the same time increasing overall system responsiveness. Moreover, real-time monitoring of the system metrics such as valve status can be done through a 16x2 LCD attached to provide the user with up-to-the-minute evaluation of the functioning of the system. The IoT incorporated with automation revolutionizes the water distribution system by eliminating human involvement and waste, leaving it as an excellent conduit for agriculture, domestic, and industrial applications. The automated functions promote timely operational scheduling of the water supply for optimum resource use as well as minimize wastage. The automated system also practices a sustainable approach since it effectively minimizes wastage in terms of water, maximizes utilization, and ensures equitable distribution, particularly for regions with high demand sites or inadequately supplied. It is scalable, flexible enough for integration into different water management technologies, thus taking care of the increasing need for an efficient management system for resources. These methods by itself serves as a futuristic advancement in water management planning and applied practices with environmental sustainability and operational efficiency for years to come, given the combination of various technologies such as IoT and automation.
