Streamer Discharge Characteristics of Air under Low-Pressure

Streamer discharge constitutes a critical physical process in gap breakdown, influenced significantly by applied voltage and electrode geometry. This study established a numerical model to simulate streamer discharge under pressures ranging from $50-100 \mathrm{kPa}$, incorporating variable applied voltages and rod electrode radii. Based on the constructed streamer discharge simulation model, conclusions are as follows: Under low-pressure conditions, the streamer head electric field intensity, streamer radius, and propagation velocity were observed to increase with higher applied voltage amplitudes, with these enhancements becoming more pronounced at lower pressures. Conversely, when identical voltage amplitudes were applied to electrodes of varying radii, electric field intensity, radius, and propagation velocity exhibited a decrease with increasing electrode radius.
