Power Loss Investigation of Isolated Dual Active Converter for EV Charging
Power converters with lower costs, smaller sizes, and more efficiency are now being developed to meet the increasing problems of renewable energy integration. To minimize energy consumption and support a range of loads, there is a growing need for well-designed power converters in high-power applications in this context. To increase performance, this research suggested an isolated Dual Active Bridge (DAB) Converter. The proposed converter offers a reduction in the supplied converter’s total losses. This study aims to evaluate the power losses of the DAB converter in forwarding mode, or low to high voltages, and reversing mode, or high to low voltages, power flow operations, using the conventional phase-shifting control method. In this paper, the characteristics of the circuits are examined, along with the converters' basic working principles and design techniques. Additionally, using MATLAB software, the single phase shift modulation (SPSM) control technique and simulation analysis is carried out.
