A Fuzzy Based Dual Active Full Bridge Topology With Reduced Current Ripple For Electric Vehicle Application
This For charging and discharging an EV battery a bidirectional converter has to be utilized. The charging is defined to be G2V (Grid to Vehicle) and the discharging is V2G (Vehicle to Grid) which is opted during grid demand condition. The conventional bidirectional converter has many drawbacks like high ripple, lower efficiency, less gain and more power loss. To overcome these issues a DAFB topology is introduced in between the EV and the grid through VSC. The VSC converts the voltages between the DAFB and grid operated by Sin PWM technique. In this paper the traditional current PI regulator in the DAFB controller is replaced by FIS regulator for better control over the battery current. The phase delay created by the regulator in the PS-PM technique of the DAFB controller need to be optimized for better results. The FIS regulator has reduced ripple and disturbances in the generated phase delay signal which ensures optimum regulated battery current. The FIS regulator in integrated with two inputs defined to be ‘error’ and ‘change in error’ signals. According to the rule base provided by the FIS tool the output variable ‘phase delay’ is varied controlling the charge/discharge current of the EV battery. In this paper a comparative analysis with both PI and FIS current regulators is provided validating using graphical plotting with respect to time. This is achieved by MATLAB software with Simulink tools and blocks used for modeling and analysis.
