Design and Implementation of the Scenario Simulation System for Robotic Operations in Nuclear Radiation Environment
The operational scenario in nuclear radiation environment is complex, and traditional manual operations face the risk of radiation exposure. Utilizing robots to replace manual tasks is a feasible approach. However, in nuclear radiation environments, high-energy particles could cause ionization effects and displacement damage, which may result in the malfunction or even failure of the electronic components used in robots. To address the needs of robotic task planning and radiation dose evaluation, this paper present the simulation system for nuclear radiation scenario robotic operation, designed and implemented using the Unity3D engine. The system reconstructed a three-dimensional virtual working environment and integrates radiation flux distribution data calculated by Super Monte Carlo simulation program for nuclear and radiation process (SuperMC). By adopting an adaptive ray tracing algorithm based on feature importance, the system achieves 3D radiation field visualization. This enables intuitive task path planning and rapid calculation of radiation doses affecting the robot's sensitive electronic components. It additionally enables real-time evaluation of the accumulated radiation dose during the robot's operation, thus verifying the feasibility of the operational plan. Through threedimensional virtual scenarios and human-computer interaction, this system provides support for nuclear facility operation simulation training, radiation protection evaluation, and task strategy optimization.
