Wavelet Packet Transform Based FXLMS Algorithm for Active Vibration Control

This paper presents a novel algorithm for active vibration control (AVC), termed Wavelet Packet Transform Based FXLMS (WPT-FXLMS) algorithm. The proposed algorithm addresses the limitations of traditional FxLMS algorithms when dealing with multi-frequency vibration signals. By using wavelet packet transform (WPT), the input signal is decomposed into multiple subbands, enabling independent adaptive filtering in each band. This enhances convergence speed and overall system stability. Simulation results in Simulink, demonstrate that the WPT-FXLMS algorithm achieves 59.5% faster convergence and a 21% reduction in residual error compared to conventional FxLMS algorithm. The coif3 wavelet basis was identified as optimal through entropy analysis. These results validate the algorithm's effectiveness for real-time multi-frequency vibration suppression and highlight its potential for complex engineering applications.
