Dual-Axis Solar Cell Tracking Control Using an Quantized Event-Triggered Sliding Mode Approach

This paper presents a quantized event-triggered sliding mode control (SMC) strategy for a dual-axis solar cell tracking system, aiming to enhance tracking accuracy while reducing control effort and communication overhead. The proposed approach leverages event-triggered control to update the system only when necessary, significantly minimizing energy consumption and computational burden. Additionally, quantization is incorporated to optimize data transmission and storage, making the system more efficient for digital implementation. The robustness of sliding mode control ensures stability under external disturbances and model uncertainties, improving the overall reliability of solar tracking. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves superior performance compared to conventional tracking techniques, leading to enhanced solar energy harvesting with reduced operational costs.
