Inertia - damping control of power-frequency oscillation in VSG grid-connected systems
Aiming at the problems such as overshoot of output power and frequency and longer regulation time when the system is disturbed, an adaptive control approach rooted on the radial basis function neural network for virtual inertia $\mathbf{J}$ and damping coefficient D is proposed. Since the Virtual inertia and damping coefficient in the Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) have the characteristics of dynamic adjustment, the influence of the virtual inertia J and damping coefficient D on the response characteristics of the system output power and frequency was analyzed. At the same time, combined with the angular frequency variation curve, present the adaptive control approach for adjusting virtual inertia J and the damping coefficient D. This strategy not only improves the response ability of the system when power or load mutations occur but also enhances the stability of the output power and frequency of VSG and the ability to suppress oscillations. Finally, simulation analysis was carried out through MATLAB/Simulink, verifying that this strategy has a good regulatory ability.
