Power Quality Improvement in Grid-Connected PV System using Adaptive Control Algorithm
This study presents the implementation of a control strategy on a three-phase grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system with improving the quality of power by the removal of harmonics and adjusting for reactive power required by the load in the distribution network. The PV-voltage source converter (VSC) system provides load balancing, harmonic abatement, and reactive power compensation at the point of common connection (PCC), which is utilized by nonlinear loads. The basic component of load current is extracted by the suggested complex-coefficient reduced-order generalized integrator based frequency-locked loop (CC-ROGI-FLL) control technique, regardless of grid voltage. The perturb and observe (P&O) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is used to track the maximum power from the PV array. The system is examined under various aberrant situations like unbalanced load currents and changes in isolation. Within the parameters specified by the IEEE 519 standard, the system performance is deemed to be adequate for providing active power to the distribution network and linked loads.
