Research on breaking characteristics of low voltage arc-less DC socket
DC arc is difficult to extinguish due to the absence of natural zero - crossing points, which leads to potential safety hazards when DC sockets break the current. In response to the problems of existing DC sockets, such as complex structure, high cost, and insufficient reliability, this paper proposes an arc - less DC socket scheme based on capacitor energy storage and a permanent magnet - spring structure. By limiting the voltage across the plug and socket during the plugging and unplugging process to be lower than the arcing threshold (15V), and combining the charging characteristics of the capacitor with the control of the breaking speed, arc - less breaking is achieved. Experiments show that under the condition of DC 240V/10A, when the capacitor capacity is ≥470μF and the breaking speed is ≥0.3m/s, 100% arc-less breaking can be achieved; under the condition of DC 400V/16A, when the capacitor capacity is ≥940μF and the breaking speed is ≥0.3m/s, or the capacitor capacity is ≥680μF and the breaking speed is ≥0.45m/s, arc - less breaking can also be achieved.
