Series-Fed Electromagnetically Coupled mm-Wave Arrays for Network Enhancement in Low 5G Signal Areas

This paper presents a series-fed electromagnetically coupled mm-wave array antenna is designed for 5G network enhancement in areas with low signal coverage. The antenna features a two-layer design, with a microstrip radiating element and parasitic layer for improved performance. According to simulations, the antenna has a resonance frequency of 26.8 GHz, an impedance bandwidth of 22.01%, and works in the 5G mm-wave spectrum (24.6 GHz to 30.5 GHz). The antenna's efficiency ranges from 70% to 87%, and its steady gain ranges from 12 dB to 14.1 dB. Its modest side lobes and broadside emission pattern assure effective coverage. This antenna is crucial for 5G mm-wave applications, providing stable, low-loss performance and significantly enhancing network coverage in challenging environments with low connectivity.
