Simulation and Test of Gas Atomizaion Nozzle of Titanium Alloy Powder
The computational fluid dynamics software Fluent was used to simulate the self-designed atomizing nozzles to study the influence of nozzle inlet diameter, outlet diameter and gas atomization angle on the flow field of the atomization chamber. According to the simulation results, the optimal parameter value was selected for atomization test. The simulation results show that with the increase of inlet diameter, the position and pressure of stagnation point have no significant change, and the suction pressure first decreases and then increases. With the increase of outlet diameter, the position of the stagnation point gradually moves rightwards, the pressure of the stagnation point gradually decreases, the suction pressure changes from positive to negative, and decreases first and then increases. With the increase of gas atomization angle, the stagnation point gradually moves leftwards, the stagnation point pressure gradually increases, and the suction pressure also gradually increases. The experimental result shows that the nozzle has a good atomization performance and the proportion of small diameter particle is significantly increased, and it can be used to prepare metal powder for 3D printing.
