Software Implementation of WBZUC-128 Stream Cipher
The increasing demand for lightweight cryptographic algorithms is resource-constrained environments, such as IoT devices and embedded systems, has led to the development of efficient stream ciphers. This paper presents the software implementation of the WBZUC-128 Stream Cipher, a modified and optimized variant of the ZUC-128 algorithm. The proposed cipher enhances the security and performance by utilizing a word based linear feedback shift register ( LFSR) and a robust non-linear function design. Implemented in Verilog, the WBZUC-128 demonstrates improved throughput and resource efficiency suitable for real time encryption. Simulation results and performance metrics are provided to validate the effectiveness of the cipher in practical applications .
