A New Five-Level Fault-Tolerant Reliable Inverter for Photovoltaic Applications
High gain fault-tolerant multilevel inverters represent a cutting-edge solution for optimizing fuel cell applications, where efficient and reliable power conversion is critical. PV Systems gives direct current (DC) that must be converted to alternating current (AC) to power various loads and integrate with the electrical grid. Multilevel inverter architectures improve performance by generating a high-quality, nearly sinusoidal output, thus minimizing harmonic distortion and enhancing efficiency. This work explores the new fault-tolerant (FT) multilevel inverters (MLI) specifically for PV systems. The FT MLI should ensure operational reliability despite component failures. Fault-tolerant features are incorporated to maintain uninterrupted operation, essential for applications with stringent reliability requirements. The proposed FTMLI inverter system should achieve notable advancements in reliability, and output quality, positioning fault-tolerant multilevel inverters as a pivotal technology for improving the performance and feasibility of PV systems in renewable energy and critical backup power applications. The proposed FT MLI is validated in the MATLAB Simulink software.
