Enhanced Sensorless Switched Reluctance Motor Control Using Incremental Inductance Estimation

Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) in industrial and automotive applications require sensorless control in order to reduce expenses, complexity, and maintenance while increasing dependability. This study introduces a unique sensorless control approach for precise rotor position detection that makes use of incremental inductance estimates. The suggested method analyses real-time changes in phase inductance to estimate rotor position, in contrast to traditional techniques that depend on external position sensors. The technique reduces torque ripple and improves control precision, guaranteeing smooth operation over a broad speed range. The success of the suggested technique is confirmed by simulation and experimental findings, which show increased SRM drive efficiency, robustness, and dependability. By advancing sensorless motor control, this research increases the viability of SRMs for high-performance applications.
