Voltage Control of Partially Observable Active Distribution Networks

The widespread adoption of distributed energy resources (DER), particularly solar photovoltaics (PV), is driving a shift in distribution networks from passive to active systems. However, this growing penetration of DERs presents significant challenges for distribution network operators, particularly in maintaining voltage stability. One key obstacle in addressing voltage regulation is the lack of real-time, detailed data in many practical networks. The partial observability of these networks hinders accurate detection and response to voltage deviations, complicating the application of traditional control strategies that rely on full network visibility. To address these challenges, this paper introduces an advanced and adaptive voltage control algorithm designed to stabilize voltage in real-time. The proposed approach leverages incomplete data and effectively mitigates the dynamic impacts of distributed energy resources.
