A Novel Active and Reactive Power Control Strategy for Microgrid Clusters
In this paper, a power balancing strategy is proposed for microgrid clusters based on multifrequency concept. The multifrequency concept conveys that without mixing, more than one frequency power can be superimposed on a single conductor. Based on this theory, a microgrid cluster architecture is proposed where all microgrids are connected to a multifrequency bus which carries different frequency voltages. The source microgrids are recognizable with a certain frequency and accordingly the consumers can select the source power. Here by using a single conductor, dedicated path for power exchange can be provided to all source and load microgrids. A novel centralized power control strategy is proposed for the cluster architecture. The proposed strategy is examined with Matlab simulations of a 8 bus microgrid cluster.
