Design of Single Source and Reduced Switch Based Single Phase Sixty Three Level Inverter for Grid Tied System
Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is an optimal choice for producing clean energy and global energy concerns. Due to limitations of conventional energy sources and environmental concerns played a crucial role towards Photo Voltaic (PV) utilization. This paper presents design and implementation of a single-source, reduced-switch-based single-phase 63-level inverter for grid-tied PV applications. PV system provides power for the grid system. The output voltage of PV is boosted by a forward converter. The switching operations are controlled by the PWM generator. The proposed 63-level Multi-Level Inverters (MLI) generate nearly sinusoidal output-voltage waveforms with reduced harmonics profile. The proposed work is implemented in the MATLAB simulation and attains reduced THD of 1.95% and low-cost function of 0.07 and 0.09 for the cost-efficient α=0.5, 1.5 respectively, thus ensuring the robustness of the system.
