Design and Implementation of EtherCAT Slave Development based on CIA402 Device
In the context of EtherCAT technology development, this paper proposes a complete development flow for different embedded chips to build reliable CIA402 standard EtherCAT slaves. Based on this flow, two slave stations are successfully developed on STM32F407ZET6 and TMS320F38388D chips. In order to solve the problem of missing CIA402 device files when adding objects in SSC Tool, Python scripts are designed for automated batch completion, which significantly shortens the development cycle. Finally, the reliability of the protocol stack of the slave and the validity of the object addition are verified by TwinCAT software test, which ensures that the two slaves are compliant with the EtherCAT standard.
