Construction Method of Wide-band Oscillation Local Monitoring and Collaborative Defense System for Power System with High Proportion of Renewable Energy

With large-scale renewable energy sources connected to power grid, the interaction between power electronic devices and the grid can induce wide-band oscillations ranging from a few Hz to several thousand Hz. Wide-band oscillations seriously affect the safety of equipment and threaten the stable operation of power system. This article proposes a construction method for a wide-band oscillation local monitoring and collaborative defense system. Firstly, a renewable energy substation is established to acquire electrical parameters, calculate oscillation characteristics, and execute regional control commands. Secondly, a regional master station is constructed to receive data from substations, locate oscillation sources, and issue targeted disconnection instructions. Thirdly, a dispatch master station is established to monitor grid frequency, voltage, and regional disconnection volume, perform safety verification, and issue lockout commands to regional master stations. Finally, the results show that the proposed method can achieve effective prevention and control of wide-band oscillations on the premise of ensuring the security of the large power grid.
