Research on the Application of Zero Trust System in Industrial Internet Protection

With the rapid development of the Internet and information technology, traditional industrial manufacturing has begun to merge with emerging information technology and Internet technologies. The “industrial Internet” has gradually emerged and is widely applied in sectors such as energy, electricity, transportation, military, aerospace, and healthcare, which are crucial to national security and the people's livelihood. Given that the industrial Internet touches numerous national key infrastructures, its security impacts social, public, and even national security. This paper analyzes the cybersecurity risks within the industrial Internet and introduces a boundary protection scheme based on the “zero trust” mechanism. This scheme, while accommodating a vast array of industrial devices, operating systems, and production applications, offers comprehensive security for the entire production intranet. The industrial Internet border protection scheme based on zero trust mechanism is different from traditional protection ideas, using a whitelist mechanism instead of a blacklist mechanism, application stealth instead of attack and defense confrontation, and dynamic verification instead of static detection. Finally, this article compares and analyzes the technical advantages of the border protection scheme based on the “zero trust” mechanism with traditional protection schemes.
