Deformation Monitoring of Yichang Transmission Lines Based on Sbas-Insar

Hubei Province has a unique geological structure and is one of the provinces in China prone to geological disasters such as collapses, landslides, debris flows, and ground subsidence. This paper uses the SBAS-InSAR technology to monitor the surface deformation in the mountainous area of Yichang. A total of 50 Sentinel-1A images from October 2021 to November 2023 were used for SBAS-InSAR deformation monitoring in the study area. The analysis of the study area shows that the areas where ground subsidence occurs are mostly in human activity areas, distributed along the Yangtze River. Human activities such as land reclamation and excessive development of riverfront land have led to severe soil erosion and ground subsidence, with a deformation rate of up to −20 mm/year. A 3-kilometer buffer zone was set up around the transmission lines, and further statistical analysis was conducted. The results are as follows: In the buffer zone of the Qishao line, the area experiencing subsidence exceeds 65% of the total area, which is much higher than that of the Panyi line.
